Solar PV Business Opportunities and Company Accreditation with the Rural Power Project
The Rural Power Project (RPP) of the Department of Energy (DOE) is inviting local companies to consider participating in the Renewable Energy business, particularly solar PV. The RPP promotes the use and commerical development of solar PV through a variety of incentives. The RPP Project Management Office (PMO) set-up within the DOE is encouraging your business participation and accreditation.
Investment Opportunities in the Philippines Rural Power Project
The Department of Energy (DOE) has received financing from Global Environment Facility (GEF), through the World Bank, towards the cost of the Rural Power Project (RPP). The RPP promotes the use of renewable energy technologies, particularly solar PV systems, on commercial basis in partnership with private companies (solar PV systems suppliers) and microfinance credit providers.
Sustainable Solar Market Package 2 (SSMP2)
The Government of the Philippines through its Department of Energy (DOE) has embarked on a number of comprehensive and innovative measures towards achieving the goal of 100% village (barangay) electrification by 2009 and 90% household electrification by 2017. These measures include new approaches to implementation of electrification projects to enhance sustainability and greater private sector participation and investments.
Rural Power folk partner for electricity
The Municipality of Quezon in Palawan has opened its doors to rural electrification through the use of solar photovoltaic installation.
RPP partners affirm role, kick off projects
100 private sector and government partners of the RPP  reaffirmed their commitment to ensure that about 2,400 remote barangays will enjoy the benefits of rural electricity. The RPP geared for 2007’s goals and targets  during an  event dubbed A Partners’ Night held at the DOE Grounds.

Enlightened partnership. In a gathering of Micro Finance Institutions and Renewable Energy Service Providers organized by the Department of Energy (DOE) recently, the idea of a partnership to bring electricity to remote areas created awareness for potential business.
Roadmap for rural power development. A solar PV system is currently being installed in a community in Higantes Island about five hours by land and pump boat from Iloilo City.  Another one is being set up in Lanao, where in spite of security problems government and private workers are working hard to bring electricity to our Muslim brothers.
MFIs, solar producers participate in rural electrification
Twelve top Micro Finance Institutions and 10 leading private solar system producers met at the Heritage Hotel in Pasay City on Aug. 30-Sept. 1 to discuss how they can assist in providing solar-powered electricity to the country’s remote barangays who have been clamoring for electricity.
